Mesterolone (Proviron)t is not an anabolic, but a very powerful anti-estrogen. It prevents gynecomastia, reduces water and fat retention, and boosts testosterone production in the testicles, while preventing the aromatization of anabolics.
Proviron acts as an anti-aromatic: it prevents the aromatization (transformation) of anabolic steroids into estrogens. It thus prevents gynecomastia. It can be combined with Nolvadex to increase its efficacy. It should be pointed out that Proviron and Nolvadex are two anti-estrogens with different but complementary mechanisms of action, which is why combining them is so effective: while Proviron prevents the aromatization of anabolic steroids, Nolvadex obstructs estrogen receptor cells, preventing it from acting. It’s a formidable tandem.
Proviron is more than just an excellent anti-estrogen: by keeping estrogen levels low, Proviron also reduces water retention. As a result, it gives the user the skinned look sought after by so many bodybuilders, particularly when preparing for competitions.
It should be pointed out that Proviron tends to limit muscle gains due to steroid cycling, as it attaches to androgen receptor cells instead of other steroids present in the body, which then remain locked out and therefore without effect. This is why many bodybuilders take a minimal dose of Proviron, just to avoid gynecomastia.
As far as side effects are concerned, they are rare below 100 mg per day. In fact, Proviron tablets are not alpha-alkylated 17 and are not harmful to the liver. On the other hand, if you start taking more than 75 to 100 mg a day, phenomena such as priapism (a painful situation in which the penis does not regain its normal flaccidity after an erection) frequently occur in men, and virilization in women.
Dosage: Take 25 mg daily for the entire cycle of treatment.
